Its summer time in the city and what a better inspiration for a summer nail art design than whats right in my back yard…(figuratively speaking of course) Now that I am officially a Brooklyn-ite I thought it fitting to celebrate all things Brooklyn and feature the weird, wacky and wonderful Coney Island. If you have never been it’s a place where one can find GEEKS and FREAKS, rides that thrill (as well as give you whiplash) and a years supply of fried foods…including Oreos and Clams.
Just a thirty minute ride on the F train and there I was in the center of Nathan’s famous Hot Dog Eating contest and Mermaid Parades.
After watching a little 1st Look NY and being inspired by a feature on Lola Star a boutique celebrating all things pink including unicorns and cupcakes as well as roller skates that has two locations in Coney Island I knew I had to plan a trip ASAP! This place by the way did not disappoint – Kita showed me all kinds of fun stuff to buy and is full-time nail art lover herself WHOOP WHOOP!
I set out the next day with my IPHONE on full charge to capture as much eye candy as possible…and here are the results
Base Color – M.A.C pigment in Pink Pearl, Frozen White, Bright Fuchsia and Pink Opal + clear Calgel
Pinky Finger – M.A.C glitter in Crystalled Yellow + clear Calgel
Ran (formerly of Sakura who now owns her own salon Studio L) hand painted each design with Gouache paint…results KICK ASS as usual.
