Betty, Ronnie & Archie…..Whether you are a comic book nerd or not – no one can deny the siren’s call of a good love triangle. I mean every great TV show (reality or not) and our daily (or even up to the minute) exposure of all things celebrity keeps us on the edge of our smart phones with the mere mention of a scandal in the name of love. So it should come to no surprise that this storyline is not new -its (in the words of Shirley Bassey) a little history repeating.
From the beginning Archie (in the words of my comic loving hubby) is a man-whore. (I say commitment-phobe) Its seems he has a problem making decision (perhaps he’s a Gemini) and wants, needs, loves not one but two of the hottest girls at Riverdale High, Betty and Veronica. For you comic book pure-ests out there – hold on – this story line is about to encounter some cosmetics liberties.
This spring M.A.C will bring the dichotomy of these two dynamic women to life through color. And we know what that means…time for this Nail Art Junkie to team up with Ran Kowatari to create my own version of this high school threesome on my nails…
To create the colors used in this manicure I dug deep into my arsenal of M.A.C pigments to customize the chromatic hues of light peach, bubble gum pinks (for the Team Betty hand of course) and a ravenous blue black and magenta richness (for those of you on Team Veronica – YES please)
Light Peach – M.A.C Pigment in Acid Orange, Primary Yellow (Matte) and White
Bubble Gum Pink – M.A.C Pigment in Cheers My Dear (exclusive to the Archie’s Girls collection) and Pink (Matte) (sadly no longer available)
Royal Riverdale HIgh Blue – M.A.C Pigment in Marine Ultra (Matte)
Ravenous Blue Black – M.A.C Pigment in Black Poodle (Archie’s GIrls exclusive – coming soon)
Magenta Richne$$ – M.A.C Pigments in Violet and Bright Fuchsia
I am obsessed with what I am calling the keyhole effect Ran created on my ring fingers leaving my actual natural nail color to recreate the Riverdale R and the Milkshake built for a 3-some.
The 3D phone and hearts were created using acrylic and Betty & Veronica were hand painted of course using gouache paint! Get ready bitches Veronica & Betty (the original Pink Ladies, Heathers or Mean Girls) are ready to rumble!
