Over the past few weeks I have been combing over the images from the fw13 runways admiring all the patterns and embellished fabrics. It pretty simple – shiny things make the world go round. I had created a few prototypes of embellished sequined nails for a photo shoot and we ended up not using them but as we know I am not one to let a good nail art idea go undone, so I decided this concept would be most impressive for our upcoming M.A.C meetings in Miami.
My dear friend and nail guru Ran is getting married today actually – so last Saturday when I got my nails did I had Sae (Ran’s trusty side kick) create my claws.
We started off with sculpting (i.e. transforming) my nails into long luxurious almond shapes, and then used Steel Blue M.A.C Pigment and clear cal gel as a base color. Each nail thereafter was curated using various sequins, glitters and paillettes. In the infamous words of Rainman my nails are very shiny. Very sparkly. Definitely very shiny.
