About

This site is dedicated to the love of nails and the artful craft of nail art. My obsession with nail art started at the young age of 10 when my mother discovered this incredible nail artisan named Akiko in Rockville, Maryland. She would paint nails from dawn to dusk meticulously embellishing nail after nail with irises and graphic lines My mom was diligent about her nails it was her one constant in the world of beauty rituals. It was a means for her to express herself in a tasteful way. All these years later I’m so grateful to live-in a city where a small community of women truly celebrate the culture of nail art beyond the French white tipped digit.

  1. Hi Keri!

I’m Amber. Not only do I share you love for Nail Art, I also share your love for M.A.C.

One day I woke up and said to myself, I want to be a Nail Art specialist for M.A.C.!

Now, I already have a ton of nail credits under my belt.
I’ve work on celebs, with major magazines, & key BIG shows for high-end designer.

But I feel the most full when teaching other beauty nerds.
I’m always telling MUAs they NEED to learn a little nail (Photogs will love you for it!)

I also love beating faces & the whole M.A.C lifestyle. So, I decided to jump on the Viva Glam train to see where I could take it!

I applied, interviewed & was hired for the freelance team in Westchester, NY.

When my boss Essie asked me where I wanted to go with the company I told her I want to be a Pro Artist with a emphasis on NAILS………she said ‘you should look up Keri B.’! ;-)

Keri, I would love to keep in touch with you as I grow in this company & keep me in mind as the nail line grows. xoxo

P.S. The colors in the lacquer line are SICK!! I’ve never seen colors like ours & I’ve been around the polish block!

    • Hi Amber!!

Thanks so much for checking out my blog and for all your kind words!! I would love to check out your stuff do you have a website/blog etc? Hopefully our paths will cross sometime soon! Stay in touch!
      xo

  2. Hi! I have seen your work and it’s incredible! :) I have worked as a nail technician for 8 years now and love doing all the nail art. I highly enjoy it. I have been thinking about becoming a M.A.C nail artist but just don’t know where to apply for that opportunity. I would appreciate if you could get back to me on advice. Thank you si much! :) Happy Holidays :)

    • thank you so much for checking out my blog…I have to say most of the nail art featured is actually done by my nail tech Ran Kowatari. I conceptualize and create the color for all of the manicures (unless its Friday Files) and I too am obsessed with nail art as you can see :) Currently M.A.C only has positions for makeup artists, nails is something we are focusing on backstage. If you are interested in seasonal freelance work we can get your information into the hands of the right person!! I would love to see your work if you have a website? Happy Holidays to you too!!

  3. HI Keri! I was wondering, do you ever use polishes other than MAC? If so, we would love to send you some of our products to test out. Please let me know if you would be interested at all. Thanks!

  4. I just started reading your blog after seeing it posted on Makeup and Beauty Blog. Generally I’m not a huge nail art person, for me it takes too long and I change my polish often enough as it is. But I totes forgot that you can use MAC pigments in nail polish, thank you for reminding me! When you buy a pigment you get so much you don’t know what to do but this should help use it up!

    • Thanks so much for coming over to the Junkie! I love Karen and her blog (and of course Tabs) The pigments work best in UV gels like biosculpture and cal gel. If you do choose to use them in polish remember the tiniest pinch works best…too much will chip the polish very quickly!! Have fun and good luck with it!

  5. Hi Keri,
